FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What is your style?
I don't like to label my work. However, most of my clients and blogs that feature my work tent to call it fine art, timeless, whimsical portraits with a blend of killer candid shots.
Q: I would like you to shoot my wedding, how do I start the process?
Reach me via my contact form along with your wedding date and venue, if secured. I can respond by email or phone. If possible, I would love to chat with you prior to wedding, We can meet or chat via Skype or FaceTime. Once you’ve decided to choose me as your photographer, I will send a contract for you to sign and and return with a deposit. After that, you can check “find a photographer” off your wedding to-do list.
Q: How much do I need to deposit?
I require a $1500 is initial deposit and the rest of the fee to be paid 30 days before the wedding day.
Q: Will you be shooting the wedding?
Yes. You are hiring me to shoot the wedding, not another photographer working under my name. I offer personalized approach and there is nothing more personable then getting to know each other before the wedding date and having fun on a big day. I want to be there to capture your wedding!
Q: Where are you based?
I am based in Winnipeg, MB Canada
However, I photograph destination weddings all over Central America
Q: When should we do the wedding portraits?
This is mostly up to you, but usually a couple of hours before the ceremony or immediately following the ceremony. Shooting before the ceremony allows you to check one more thing off the day’s to-do list early on and, more importantly, to afford you and the wedding party a chance to enjoy the cocktail hour and mingle with your guests. Shooting after the ceremony, depending on the time, could allow you to take advantage of the setting sun and its softer light.
Q: Do you take getting-ready shots?
These are some of my favorite photographs to capture. The energy and excitement of everyone moving about is there, but I can also capture the calm moments when the bride and groom think about their wedding vows, the friends and family around them, and everything leading up to and away from this moment.
Q: Do you take dance shots?
That’s where the fun is. I am right there with everyone on the dance floor like a ninja with camera.
Q: Do you shoot in RAW?
Yes. RAW allows me to get the best quality and image detail when I am processing the photos.
Q: Do you shoot in B&W?
I love B&W photographs. There is something so timeless about them. Since I shoot digital, this allows me to decide after the fact whether I want to process the image in B&W or Color. However, I generally shoot the image with a color preference in mind based on what I am seeing.
If you request, I will give you both Color and Black and White version of your photographs.
Q: What kind of equipment do you use?
I shoot with only professional gear: 2x Nikon full format DSLR's and a combination of Nikkor and Sigma prime and zoom lenses. I also have flash, speed light system that I use if necessary.
I have Sony system that does stunning underwater photographs. (That could be an option for Underwater session at the destination wedding).Ohhhhh and I'm also PADI certified scuba diver so we can go for a dive and I will be your underwater photographer!
Q: When will I get to see my wedding photos?
Your photos will generally be ready within 8 weeks following the wedding. I go through a careful process of choosing the best images from the day and processing each of them with individual attention.
Q: Do you shoot video?
Unfortunately, to focus my attention on the photography, I cannot do both at once myself.
Q: Do you offer albums?
I offer custom-designed 8x8, 10x10 and 12 x 12 hardbound coffee-table photo books along with a selection of other a la carte products.
- flash bound albums - carefully selected photographs of your wedding
- press books - great for engagement, guestboooks, boudoir, or all wedding photographs
- wall canvases
If this is a destination wedding, I can design your album album, email you the proof for approval and specify to album company to deliver this album to your door rather then to me. All the albums companies I use are based in USA and in Canada.
Q: Who chooses the photographs in the album?
I offer you a chance to pick a selection of photos that you must have in the album. This can be anywhere from 0 to the entire album. However, I do advise that you let me choose the majority of the photos for the album since I will use my best judgment to select the best and more relevant photos to tell the story of your wedding day. One of the top reasons, couples often times say they haven’t ordered the albums from their photographers is because they haven’t gotten around to choosing the pictures for the album.
Q: Do you recommend a second photographer?
I recommend a second photographer for larger weddings or when the schedule requires a photographer to be two places at once. There is also the aspect of being able to capture multiple perspectives of the same moment such as saying your vows and being able to capture both you and your husband’s expressions etc.
Q: Do you travel for weddings, engagement sessions or assignments?
I think you already know that I LOVE to travel! Just tell me when and where and I will quickly pack and go!
I would love to go with your for a hike, dive, helicopter fly, jungle hike, waterfall discovery, zipline, skydive..... I will do anything and everything for a mindblowing photo!
Q: Do you bring backup gear?
Always. Minimum two extra camera bodies, multiple lenses, and multiple lights. My camera even has the ability to back up photos instantly to a second memory card inside the camera body, so If anything ever happened to one card, there is a second one backing up what I shot.

Q: What do you wear to weddings?
I like to fit in with your guests as much as possible. I usually wear all black, it makes me feel more ninja-like.
